Is my accelerated undergraduate degree as good as a traditional degree?
Yes. Your accelerated degree is as good as a traditional degree. The programs have been approved by the PA Department of Education and Eastern University. The University is also accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The curriculum is designed for adult learners and the theory of learning is now used by universities and colleges across the country.

I’ve been out of school for so long, I wonder if I can actually succeed.
Many of our students feel unsure before they begin but by the time they have completed a few weeks of classes their confidence level has grown tremendously. This is a program for adult students, many of whom have been out of a formal school setting for a number of years. Even while you've been outside a school setting, you’ve been learning informally at home, on the job, at conferences, and at workshops.  Returning to school is not a return to learning; it is a return to learning systematically in a formal setting.
Our courses are designed to meet the unique needs of adult learners. You may find our program to be very different from the education you received when you earned your diploma. Keep in mind that the average age of the Eastern student is 38 so you’ll have plenty of supportive classmates who understand your apprehension.

Do we have to write a lot of papers?  I haven't written one in so long.
Writing papers is a concern for many of our new students. You’ll get plenty of direction and assistance from your instructors. We offer additional assistance through our Writing Center on the St. David's campus or online.

Do my previous credits expire?
We accept college credits regardless of how old they are. As long as you earned a "C" or better and the course was above a remedial level your credits will be considered for transfer. Although we wish to grant the maximum number of credits, credits will not be awarded for duplicating coursework, exceeding credit limits and/or for coursework at accredited institutions that Eastern University does not recognize. Program advisors will be able to provide you with additional information.

Can I write Life Experience Essays in order to earn credits to enter the program?
You may earn credits for life experience, approved professional credentials, and CLEP credits. You must be accepted into the program and have earned 15 or more credits with Eastern University before you can begin writing Life Experience Essays. However, there are accelerated courses called "General Studies Courses," which you can take to increase your credits. Please call 610-225-5524 for more information.
